With the beginning of this new academic session, we welcome young budding females to our college, which stands fully equipped to meet the challenges of our changed times. KVA DAV college for women, Karnal is a premier institution of Haryana with the distinction of being the first women's college in the state. Keeping in view of the ideal of Arya Samaj's leader Swami Dayanand Sarswati, we create leaders by imparting goal oriented & value added knowledge among our students. We believe in 'Punchmukhi Vikas' of our students so that they can realize their potential and abilities.
This College was established in 1958 (by a group of Arya Samajis led by Lal Makhan Lal Ji, Dr Ganesh Das ji and Principal Mela Ram Ji Barq) with only hundred students, 4 lecturers and 4 members of non-teaching. Now it has a strength of about 1831 students, 91 lecturers and 24 members of non-teaching staff. After 29 years of its inception, the management of the College was handed over to DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi which is the biggest, non government educational society in India running about 900 institutes across all parts of India and abroad. The name of Kumari Vidyavati Anand was prefixed in 1997 to this institute in honour of her selfless and magnanimous service in the field of education. Over the years, the College has grown into a renowned and acknowledged institute of the area, serving the cause of value based higher education. It has been declared a "Model College" and "Pace setting Women's College" by National Institute of Education, Planning and Administration in 1992.
